Honda to Make More Models in America

Honda headquarters might be based in Japan, but the automaker makes a substantial portion of their vehicles right here in the U.S. That's right. Many of the new Hondas you'll find at Rensselaer Honda are, in fact, made in stateside.

The manufacturing facility responsible for producing many of the new Honda models at Rensselaer Honda of Troy, NY is located in Lincoln, Alabama. And, in an effort to accommodate fast-growing demand for Honda cars, CUVs, SUVs and hybrids (up 10 percent this year alone), the plant is about to undergo a substantial expansion.

Specifically, Honda will invest $84 million and hire 100 additional employees to increase production of small trucks and engines. Recent reports indicate that the investment of money and man power will boost annual capacity of the Lincoln plant to 340,000 vehicles and engines, by 2013.That's up 40k from current capacity numbers.

Exactly what vehicles are made at the Honda plant in Lincoln? Well, there's the family-favorite Honda Odyssey minivan, safe-and-durable Honda Pilot SUV, and rugged Honda Ridgeline full-size pickup truck. The plant, which first opened 11 years ago, also produces each vehicle's respective engine. And, depending on where demand is following the plant's expansion, we could very well see this list grow even more.

To learn more about the Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline, or other new Honda model, contact Rensselaer Honda of Troy today. Or, visit us in person. Conveniently located at 770 Hoosick Rd Troy, NY 121800, we're extremely easy to find and happy to share specs, specials, compare models and arrange test drives.
