Remember David Puddy from Seinfeld? How about Johnny Johnson from News Radio? Or Joe Swanson, the paralyzed police officer from Family Guy? All three characters were played by the over-the-top comedic actor, Patrick Warburton. And, now the prolific TV and film star is making an appearance in a new Honda campaign coined, "Good Reasons."

Go ahead...It's okay to assume the commercials are a spoof. They are. And, it's a good thing, too. Warburton is perfect for the job.

Of course, the "Good Reasons" campaign isn't a spoof on new Honda cars. Rather, it's a spoof on the stereotypical sales tactics employed my many automakers (i.e., using sex to sell products and displaying illegible legal disclaimers). You know...the kind of smoke-and-mirrors approaches that cloud what many dealerships are really selling.

What inspired, the candid and hilarious campaign? Well, Honda believes that if you have the awards and accolades from independent critics that Honda does, you don't need to use such...how do you say...platitudes. And, of course, they plain-and simple wanted to have some fun and make their fans laugh.

"In this campaign, we took the values that are core to Honda's brand image - simple, smart, straightforward - and made them really engaging and fun," says Jason Sperling, RPA, SVP/GCD. "We created a layer of honesty that isn't seen from most car manufacturers. And, we show Honda's many strengths in a way that cuts through the clichés and usual tactics and feels incredibly fresh."¹

Rensselaer Honda, located at 770 Hoosick Road Troy, NY hopes drivers in the Troy, Albany and surrounding areas get to catch at least one of the commercials in the campaign. If you don't see it on television, remember, you can always look them up online, too. If you ask our opinion, the laughing-induced stitch in your side is worth the time.
