Honda Civic Gets Nip and Tuck, Sooner than Expected
Honda listens to their consumers and to prove it, they’re redesigning the best-selling Honda Civic a bit earlier than enthusiasts expected.
So as to not ignore the elephant in the room, we’ll just come right out and say, not all Civic fans were as pleased with the 2012 model as they have been in the past. Not all – but some…enough for Honda to step up, take responsibility and try to make amends.
The good news is that the qualms drivers expressed were not focused on performance, but rather aesthetics, which is undeniably more subjective. Nevertheless, Honda has already begun scheming over how to better please its consumers worldwide.
According to John Mendel, Executive VP, American Honda the world-renowned Civic wasn’t originally scheduled to get its next redesign until the 2014 model year. But after receiving feedback from drivers, the automaker has put the next scheduled nip and tuck on the fast track. Drivers in Troy, Albany and surrounding areas might now see the refreshed Honda Civic as soon as 2013.
“We take feedback seriously, regardless of who it’s from, and we will act accordingly and quickly,” says Medel. “…The comments of Consumer Reports and our customers have not gone unnoticed. We are appropriately energized.”1
