Honda Demonstrates Quietness of FCX Clarity Fuel-Cell Vehicle in New Ad

December 18th, 2012 by

Accidentally distracted everyone in the library because of your high heels? You know the feeling, right? Okay, maybe not. What about having your cell phone go off in a quiet area? We’re guessing more people have been there. Well, both of these happen to a woman in new spot promoting fuel-cell vehicles. How does she solve the situation? With the Honda FCX Clarity, of course.

The idea is to show us the technology at work inside fuel-cell vehicles that are quiet, efficient, and very environmentally friendly. So, after being dismissed by a snooty librarian, the woman returns in the FCX Clarity, unnoticed until she is right in the librarian’s sights. Astonished, he drops his coffee cup to the floor, causing a commotion, and gets shushed by the woman behind the wheel.

With an innovative V Flow Fuel Cell Stack and electric motor that produces a power output of 100 kW, 134 horsepower, and 189 pound-feet of torque, the noise might not be much, but your performance behind the wheel is certainly ample.

Using compressed hydrogen gas, the FCX Clarity has a driving range of 240 and an astounding 61 miles per gallon equivalent.*

Needless to say, that’s impressive any way you slice it.
