A Honda key fob battery can be purchased almost anywhere although it is recommended to purchase a genuine Honda battery from your dealership. If you can’t make it to your local Honda dealer call to find out the battery size and voltage. From there you can go out to most hardware stores and purchase the battery you need. Below is a picture of what the battery should look like. Replacing a Honda Key Fob Battery is an easy task almost anyone can handle. Below are quick easy steps to replace it yourself. How to replace a Honda key fob battery

• The first step is to slide the key out of  the key Fob.

• Wedge the edge of the key between the slot at the top of the key fob. Twist the key to use it as leverage and the back of the key fob should pop off.

• Hold the key  fob together by pressing your thumb down right above where the battery is located.

• Using your other hand remove the battery and place the new one in.

• Line the back of the key fob up with the front and press it back together. You will here it snap back into place.

How to reassemble the Honda key Fob if it falls apart

If the battery is pried out of the key fob with out carefully holding it together there is a good chance everything will come out along with the battery including the buttons. Below I will explain how to reassemble the whole key fob incase this happens to you.

• 1st step is to grab the spare key to use as a reference.

• Next, line all of the buttons up next to the key fob face plate just like they would be placed back into the key fob.

• Flip the faceplate over and place the buttons back into the correct slots.

• Insert the cross bar between the empty spaces between the top buttons with the curvature facing outwards.

• Insert the battery back into the mother board with the posative sign facing out.

• Put the mother board back into the key fob with the rubber film up against the buttons.

• Line the back of the key fob up with the front and press it back together. You will here it snap back into place.

• The last step is to press all the buttons to test that everything is working properly.
