This 2014 Honda Odyssey has the need for speed
Ever since the 2014 Honda Odyssey made its way to our dealership, life hasn’t been the same for families on the go. With more than enough seating for seven, a fuel economy that gets 28 mpg on the highway and a built-in vacuum cleaner to boot, it’s easy to see why we’re so very fond of it here at Rensselaer Honda.
As far as functionality, practicality and versatility are concerned, this minivan’s got them in spades. But when it comes to speed, well, it’s not exactly a mean machine.
Don’t get us wrong, 248 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque from its 3.5-liter V6 is nothing to scoff at, especially for a minivan. We’re just not holding our breath for it to roll up to Daytona anytime soon. Then again, there are exceptions to every rule, and now that SEMA 2013 has arrived, exceptions have been made.
For those unfamiliar, SEMA is an annual auto show that brings in automakers and gearheads from across the globe for five days of vehicular debuts and custom models unlike anything you’ve ever seen. This year, one of those models was none other than a 2014 Honda Odyssey from the mad geniuses at Bisimoto Engineering.
As for what makes it so unique, the custom leather interior was certainly a nice touch. Then again, it kind of pales in comparison to the two Turbonetrics BTX7265 engines under the hood, plus the 3.5-liter V6, plus the added slew of pistons, injectors, cylinder heads and more. Put them all together, and you’ve got a minivan that can get up to 1,029 horsepower. No, that is not a typo.
If you’d like to see it in person, today’s your last chance to catch it at SEMA. Or if you’d rather learn more about what our 2014 Odyssey models have to offer, the experts in our car parts department would be happy to fill you in at our dealership here in Troy, NY, just across the way from Albany. What will they think of next?
